Team Capabilities

The capabilities of the USAR Task Force include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Establish a Command Center which can function independently or in conjunction with local government or rescue agencies
  • Act as a communication hub linking and enabling common communication with local government or rescue agencies
  • Physical search and rescue operations in damaged/collapsed structures.
  • Conduct rescue operations
  • Emergency medical care to disaster response personnel.
  • Emergency medical care to the injured.
  • Reconnaissance; to assess damages and needs, to provide feedback to local, provincial and federal officials.
  • Structural and hazardous assessments for local government or rescue agencies supporting disaster relief operations.
  • Stabilization of damaged structures
  • Water rescue operations
  • Mass Decontamination
